Hello
I'm Hellen Araya Parrales
Diets that cut out carbohydrates or prohibit eating fruit after 6 pm are outdated. Remember, your body needs nutrients that you get from food. We all have to eat every day; the key lies in the choices we make throughout the day, as these can either improve or worsen our physical and emotional health.
Having the necessary knowledge in Nutrition will make you a conscious person in your choices and you will see results in your health. For this reason, throughout these 5 years as a Nutritionist, I greatly enjoy teaching nutrition to my patients, which has filled me with great satisfaction to know that they are people with very positive changes in their health, people who have recovered their self-esteem, their confidence, and have been able to discontinue treatments such as insulin and antihypertensives, thanks to a personalized nutrition plan.
My story
When I was in my Social Service, I realized the need to teach people to eat. The patients in the chronic care program who suffered from diabetes or hypertension always asked me "What can I eat?" and I, like every doctor in social service, sent them for consultation to the Nutrition service, however, I felt very dissatisfied for not meeting the expectations of my patients, thank God, months after these experiences, still being a Doctor in Social Service I had the opportunity to study Clinical Nutrition with a very nice person and an excellent nutritionist, my teacher, Dr. Glorielena Navas, who taught me a lot about the subject and also planted my seed in Sports Nutrition because she shared very interesting articles on the effect of the proteins in the formation of muscle mass in bodybuilding, however, I could not exercise immediately, since I entered the specialty of Radiology and Imaging for a period of 3 years.
When I left this specialty, while I was pregnant with my third baby, I had the opportunity to open my nutritional office where I began to learn a lot about nutrition myths and when I realized the frequent problems on the subject, I decided to gradually create my method "Let's learn to eat" in order to correctly guide my patients and make healthy eating a lifestyle.
